Winter 999
- 16 November 999, the “Triumvirate” took over Ponyville. Trixie was found curled up in a cart; Starlight Glimmer, whom Trixie had rescued without the Triumvirate's knowledge, escaped disaster because she had been taken to Ponyville hospital. Although Chrysalis still harboured suspicions about the pony who had once destroyed her hive, the divided “Triumvirate” eventually compromised and appointed Trixie interim security chief of Ponyville, to supervise the town's current mayor 梅耶 in obeying the Triumvirate's rule.
- 24 December 999, the first Hearth's Warming after the Final Battle. Facing the Windigos circling overhead, the various species organised their defences in fear against the “Triumvirate” that might knock at any door. Queen Chrysalis left Equestria and returned to the Changeling Kingdom, hanged Thorax who had once betrayed her, and regained supreme power over the hive.
- In the Everfree Forest, the fugitive Discord and his animal friends pieced together a band that could barely be called a legion and began a guerrilla war against the Empire. The zebra Zecora also led the ponies who had fled to the Everfree Forest, organising with Discord a pony army among the trees and teaching the ponies alchemy between fights.
