11 November 999 (S09E24, E25), the Final Battle. Unlike the main timeline, this time the iron alliance of Cozy Glow, Queen Chrysalis and Tirek — with the Windigos screaming overhead — shattered every species' will to resist. To the very last moment of the war, reinforcements never arrived. In that terrible disaster Starlight and Discord, having lost their magic, barely escaped from the Canterlot prison, but could not turn the tide: Starlight Glimmer interrupted the Triumvirate's spellcasting and tried to save the Mane Six, but only slightly delayed the tragedy. Starlight Glimmer was wounded and knocked unconscious, and was saved by Trixie, hiding in the shadows. Only the Mane Six, isolated and unsupported, were taken away with the two sisters to the place that had once held Tirek and Cozy Glow — Tartarus prison. The six sages were imprisoned in Canterlot prison.
After the Final Battle, the Triumvirate left Canterlot and began conquering the various regions of Ponyville. In the process Tirek drained part of the ponies' magic in accordance with the plan, while Cozy Glow used Tirek's power to build her own initial army and ruling group; Chrysalis tried to take part in this process and to interfere in Equestria, but rifts gradually opened between the three victors and Chrysalis did not get her way.
