Sunset Shimmer is the starting leader of 自由小马利亚. She was once one of Princess Celestia's students, but was cast out for coveting power; she fled Equestria through a portal to another world (Earth). Years later she returned to Equestria, stole Twilight Sparkle's crown and tried to launch an invasion to seize power. She was ultimately defeated by Twilight Sparkle, realised her mistake, and chose to stay in the other world as a human, focusing on her own life and looking for a way to undo the effects of Equestrian magic on that world. Sunset Shimmer is regarded as “the link between the two worlds”.
